Venn-diagram chart:

Process

The Children will pair off into groups of two and get a Venn-diagram chart to compare and contrast two characters from a book they have read previously to this assignment; they will use their books to complete this assignment.  When they get into their groups the teacher will then assign them two characters that they will be using for this assignment. They will then look up each character and write down things that describe the characters. Before using their Venn-diagrams, we will watch, as a whole, a short video where students use a Venn-diagram. From here they will fill out their Venn-diagrams and reflect back on their notes to do so. Once they have finished with their Venn-diagrams they will pick a scene from the book where their two characters interact with each other; and draw this scene. Once the diagrams are complete and drawings have been finished the children will then turn in their work to be graded on spelling and make sure the put the right information into the correct columns. The students are to turn in their: notes, Venn-diagrams, and drawings.

Evaluation

For the evaluation of this assignment, the students will be graded on grammar, the drawings they turn in, the notes they took, and how prepared they were for this assignment.
