Introduction
You will be using this WebQuest to learn about the Beatitudes and when Jesus gave the Beatitudes to His people. Like we've talked about in class, this chapter is not going to be from the book - it will come from all of the discussions and presentations that we do in class, as well as from this WebQuest.
Like I've reminded you many times this week YOU WILL NEED AND BE USING YOUR HEADPHONES during this WebQuest, so if the directions tell you to use your headphones YOU MUST USE THEM!!
The only tab you will need to refer to during this WebQuest is this one and "Task". All off the information necessary will be on one of these two pages.
How to do the WebQuest:
- You will be getting a worksheet to go along with this WebQuest. There are going to be bolded headings on both the worksheet and the WebQuest. Everything under one bolded heading on one thing, will be under the bolded heading on the other. FOR EXAMPLE: If there is a question under What's in a Word on the worksheet, then you will be lead to the answer under the What's in a Word heading on the WebQuest.
- If a section tells you to use your headphones, you have to use them! You cannot do that portion of the webquest without your headphones, because you will be a distraction to other people who are trying to work.
- You will have this class period to work on your webquest - anything that is not completed today must be completed by Tuesday. So if you did not bring your headphones today, you MUST watch that video and complete the answers to those questions outside of class time.
- If you have any questions ask, and I will be happy to help you!
- Work hard and have fun!!
- Now please click on "task"

Sermon on the Mount
- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BTO7-Jarl-E - Questions 9 & 10 will be from this video.
Questions 2-8 will be answered in the paragraph below:
The Sermon on the Mount was Jesus’ most famous sermon that he ever gave. He summarized his whole mission of truth and faith in this sermon, and it is where He taught His people how to spread the Word of God and live as Jesus’ disciples. The emphasis on this sermon is directed towards the heart; Jesus uses this lesson to put a sincere devotion to God in our hearts.
The Sermon on the Mount attempts to change people from external obedience to internal obedience. External obedience refers to doing what you think other people want you to do, and internal obedience refers to doing the right thing because you know within yourself that it is the right thing to do. Instead of looking at what you HAVEN’T done for the day, look at what you can or have done for the day. For example, instead of “I haven’t made fun of anyone today, so I’m a good person,” you should be thinking, “I have done some random acts of kindness, and I am proud of myself for doing that; I hope that I have made someone else feel appreciated.”
Jesus concludes His sermon with “Be perfect, therefore, just as your Heavenly Father was perfect…” Do you think this really means that we need to be perfect as God was perfect? Absolutely not! We can’t! We’re human beings – we have flaws! While He does not mean that we are to literally be perfect, He wants us to understand that we should not talk down to people or make people feel like they are not as important as someone else. The Beatitudes teach us that we are all equal, and that all people deserve equal treatment and social justice – it is our job to carry that out into the world!
