Introduction

Welcome to your online quest for science knowledge! 

This series of activites, inquiry and research will help us move forward in our science unit!  

Please let Ms. Coumbs know if there are any questions, concerns or problems. Remember to be responsibe online citizens, learn lots, and have fun!

Task

Your Task: 

1. Research, develop and use your knowledge of pure substances, mixtures and solutions to create and describe a hypothetical situation that will compare and clearly outline the similarities and the differences of these three concepts.

Get creative with how you present your knowledge and use your own talents and interests to show what you know! 

Ideas (not limited to):

- Song/Poem 

2. If completed, develop a scientific inquiry or investigation we could do in class to clearly show the differences and similiarities between pure substances, mixtures and solutions.

Step 2: 

Now that you have investigated and understand the similarities and differences between pure substances, mixtures and solutions (solutes and solvents, too), use your creativity to produce a memorable story, comic strip, illustration, etc to show your understanding of these three science concepts. 

Please include a typed or hand-written reflection on your learning. Include at least three sentences (I learned..., I remembered..., I wonder...) in your reflection. Please, if possible, print and submit or share on Google Drive.

Evaluation

The chart, creative example and reflection will be formatively assessed based on the following success criteria.

I used a variety of resources/links for learning about the science concepts. 
I created an accurate definition in my own words. 
I provided a meaningful example that supports my definition.
I constructed a creative example (Bitstrips, picture, poem, etc) for the concepts
My creative example clearly outlines the definition of the concept in a memorable way
I included a reflection of my learning. 
My WebQuest is complete and submitted via hard copy or Google Drive
