Introduction
You are employed by a large corporation located in New York, NY. This corporation has several branches in the Northeast section of the United States. Your supervisor has just been given the assignment of organizing a conference for all branches. Your supervisor wants you to do some research for his presentation to the officers of this cooperation.
Based on your research, the officers will select a conference site for this year's conference.
Task
From your research, you will prepare charts listing the number of rooms in hotels being considered to host our conference. Your supervisor would also like a chart to show the distance of the various cities from New York.
When you are finished, you will submit both the charts and the data that you have compiled. (Remember, to use different charts, ones that will best show the differences in the data.)
You will use Lotus 1-2-3 97 to compile your data and produce the charts. You will use the Web to do your research.
Process
The President of our corporation has decided that he would like to select from the following cities:
New York
Boston
Philadelphia
New Jersey
Washington
Hotels being considered:
Hilton
Hyatt Regency
Marriott
Radisson
Sheraton
You will use travelocity to search for your information. In each city you will determine if the hotel has a facility and, if it does, how many rooms does it have. Be sure to include only those hotels that are currently open, not those with a future opening date
The officers have indicated they wish the hotel to be downtown, not on the outskirts of the city.
The other determining factor will be the distance from our main office to the city of choice.
Now that you have finished your research, use the software Lotus 1-2-3 97 to enter your data. Your charts must be in a format that you supervisor can use for his presentation.

Conclusion
Many supervisors have employees help with research that they do not have the time to do. By using the World Wide Web you will do many different searches for an employer. You have learned how to search for requested information and then take
that information and put it into chart form. You should also have a better understanding of how different charts emphasis different information.
