the Reformation was a religious movement that happened in the western church in the 16th century. The leaders of this, were martin luther and john calvin. After reaching substantial political, and economical rates, and having alot of social impact, it became the basis of Protestantism. which is 1 of 3 branches of Christianity. The causes of this were, many different things. One of them being martin Luther had started it because he didn't like the way things were in his society.
