Introduction
In class we learned about circles and spheres: their diameter, radius, surface area, volume, and circumference. We also learned how all of these parts of circles and spheres are related to eachother. For this webquest, you will be using these parts of circles and spheres to help a team of astronauts find measures of the moon and help them with a top secret project. This project has been dubbed Project "New Home".
Task
A team of astronauts is scheduled to launch to the moon next week, while on the surface of the moon they need to find measures of the moon. These measurements will be vital for Project "New Home".
Before the launch, there are some things you will need to provide for the astronauts. They need to know how to find measures of circles and spheres: circumference, surface area, volume, diameter, and radius.
Process
Part 1:
For the first part of your webquest, I need you to solve some review problems on circles for me. These will just help you brush up on your knowledge of circles.
Find the circumference of these circles.

Find the radius of these circles.
Find the Surface Area of each sphere.

Now that you're warmed up, we can begin. The shuttle dropped our astronauts off on opposite sides of the moon.
Part 2:
If the astronauts are on opposite sides of the moon and the distance between them is 2,159.14, find the circumference and surface area of the moon.
Now that our astronauts know the surface area of the moon, they can implement the real plan, Project "New Home" is an idea that could be implemented to make the moon inhabitable. First, you need to determine the number of trees you would need to plant on the moon if you planted one every ten square feet.
Part 3:
For this part of project "New Home" our scientists need help designing a dome that would go around the moon. It will be held three miles above the surface of the moon. Your objective is to find the surface area of this dome.
Parft 4:
For the final part of project "New Home" our scientists need a (not to scale) drawing of what this will look like. You need to create a simple sketch to illustrate what this will look like.
