Introduction
In class we have been studying Rocks and Minerals. You will use this webquest to learn more about rocks and minerals and show me what you have learned. Make sure to complete steps 1 and 2, then you will complete one of the three perfomrance tasks. Make sure to check your work and turn it into Mrs. Booher.
Process
1. Choose your favorite type of rock. In your science journal answer the following question: Is your rock an ignerous, sedimentary, or metamorphic rock? Why is it your favorite rock?. Then describe the rocks texture, particle size, color, and hardness. Include a picutre of your rock.
2. Read article Minerals: Can't Live Without Them, in your Rocks and Minerals book. You may partner read or read the article independently. Then complete one of the following activities:
-Create a circle map about minerals using atleast 10 facts
-Make a tree map about minerals telling what minerals are, types, and uses of
-Write 10 facts about minerals in your science journal
Choose one of the following performance tasks to complete:
-Create an informational brochure about minerals. Your brochure must include real pictures and atleast 10 facts.
-Make a poster about minerals. Your poster must include atleast 10 facts and real pictures.
- Create short video about minerals using the class ipad. Your video must be less than 3 minutes long. You should include atleast 10 facts about minerals. You can create a documentary, commercial, or even a music video. Use your imagination.

Now that you have completed your task. In your science journals, write down three questions you still have about rocks and minreals. We will work together as a class to answer your questions.
Make sure you have complete all parts of the activities and graded yourself using the rubric.
