Introduction
Anaerobic respiration is the same thing as fermentation. Fermentation is the process of making ATP molecules without oxygen. This process involves glycolysis which is the splitting of ATP molecules into two pyruvates. ATP molecules have six carbons, but after glycolysis, the two pyruvates each have 3 carbons. The two different types of fermentation are lactic acid and alcoholic fermentation. In lactic acid fermentation, the pyruvic acid from glycolysis is changed to lactic acid. In alcoholic fermentation, pyruvic acid changes to alcohol and carbon dioxide. Many bacteria and yeasts carry out fermentation.

1. What is one of the major advantages of aerobic respiration?
2. What is one advantage of anaerobic respiration?
3. Up to how many ATP molecules can be produced through aerobic respiration?
Conclusion
Since fermentation is the same thing as anaerobic respiration, then fermentation makes ATP molecules without oxygen. ATP molecules are molecules of energy. there are two different fermentations, which are lactic acid and alcoholic fermentation. There are also two different types of respiration, which are anaerobic and aerobic. Anaerobic produces ATP a lot faster than aerobic respiration, but aerobic respiration produces more energy at a time. They all have their advantages, but they all have their disadvantages too.
