Introduction

Have you ever been conned into buying something that didn't work? Have you ever been talked into getting something you didn't need? If so, then you fell victim to persuasive techniques that are used in various media, such as TV commercials and print advertisements. You mission in this WebQuest is to recognize and analyze various persuasive techniques in media. Knowing these techniques could potentially save you money so that you don't get persuaded to purchase something you do not need or so that you can recognize potential scams. So what are you waiting for? Let's get started!
Task

Your goal is to create a chart of 5 chosen types of persuasive techniques with examples of each.
After coming to an understanding of the various persuasive techniques, you will need to choose five examples and identify the techniques used to promote this product. In addition, you will need to provide an analysis of each technique by doing the following: explain the technique in each example you provide, identify the target audience, and tell how effective you think this technique was. You will present the chart to the class. (All examples must be pulled from this webquest provided by the teacher.)
