LET'S PLANT A GARDEN!!

Introduction

Welcome Ms. Kimball's third grade class!  Today we will be going on an adventure!  The seasons affect many areas of our lives including:  How we dress, what we like to do outside, what we may eat, and when our plants are in bloom or dormant.

Task

You will be going on a WebQuest with your classmates! During this WebQuest you will find out how the seasons effect our plants.  This knowledge will help you decide as a class which season is the best season for planting our garden to help increase our plants survival.  The class will be divided into 4 groups.  Each person in their group will research their season and debate within your group why or why not your season is best for planting our garden.

Process

Each group will have an expert in the spring, summer, fall and winter.  As a group, decide which season each person will research.  Answer the following questions for your season. After completing your research you will input your information on a poster board provided for all of the seasons.  When completed, students will present their posters and their findings to the class.

   1.  What month's are in your season?  (use the classroom calendar to find your information.  List your months on your season worksheet.

   2.  What is the high temperature for each month? (click on link to research your answer). Click HERE

    3.  What is the low temperature for each month? (click on link to research your answer). Click HERE

    4.  What is the rainfall for each month? (click on link to research your answer). Click HERE

    5.  What is the snowfall for each month? (click on link to research your answer). Click HERE
