Introduction

Landform Vacation

The Landform Vacation project will allow you to research your assigned landform and plan a vacation to visit the natural wonder.

Task

Using your assigned landform, plan a vacation to the Earth’s magnificent feature.

Math: Plan a vacation to your assigned landform and create a final product that includes these aspects:

First, identify the location you are visiting. Then, figure out your travel schedule (there and back).

  • NBT. 3M - About how many miles away is this vacation place?
  • NBT. 3M - About how many hours or days will it take to drive or fly there and back?

Next, estimate how much you will spend on meals and a hotel.

  • NBT. 3M - About how many nights will you stay at the hotel?
  • NBT. 5 M - About how much will you spend for your hotel stay? (Hint: Round the hotel price to the nearest ten dollars)
  • NBT. 3M - About how many meals will you have on your trip?
  • NBT. 5 M - About how much will you spend on meals?
  • What fun and interesting places will you visit? About how much will you spend?

Finally, write a travel diary including the following:

  • NBT. 3M - About how many miles did you travel? About how long did it take?
  • Where did you stay and what fun things did you do?
  • NBT. 5 M - What were the estimated cost? About how much did you spend each day?

Reading: Choose between a travel brochure, an advertisement, or fictional story and include the following:
