Catch you around!

~ Claudia

Task

The students will break up into cooperative groups of four students each.

Using previous lessons learned about Clouds, each group will be assigned one type of cloud.

Each group will research and explore their specific cloud, taking notes mainly on their characteristics and what it means when that cloud is in the sky.

Process

Step one: The teacher will break the students up into cooperative groups of 4.

Step two: The teacher will assign each group a type of cloud, either stratus, cumulus, or cirrus.

Step three: Using the information packets and website provided, note characteristics and information useful about your cloud. http://www.weatherwizkids.com/weather-clouds.htm

Step four: Each group will be creating a cloud poster. Each group is to use cotton balls in order to form their type of cloud. Be sure to emphasize the specific characteristics of your cloud type. Each student must have a role!

Role 1: Cotton stretcher: This person will stretch/form the cotton in order to create the specific cloud type.

Role 2: Cotton paste: This person will paste and create the cloud onto the poster.

Role 3: Scribe: This person will transfer the known facts of the cloud onto the poster using marker.

Role 4: Speaker: This person will speak and present the posters to the class.

Evaluation

This assignment will be graded in two aspects:

Individually: As per the classroom grading scale, the teacher will circulate to observe each student working in their groups. Students are to participate in the creation of the assignment cooperatively with their group. Each student will receive a grade out of 50.

Group: A group will receive an overall grade out of 50 on how well they worked as a team together.

Conclusion

Hello Cloud Masters!

I am so proud of you for completing my tasks! However, I have ONE last assignment for you! I would like to see what you enjoyed the MOST out of this WebQuest.

On an index card, please write your FAVORITE part of the assignment.

Was it working together in a group? Was it collecting the research in order to complete the assignment? Was it your role in the assignment?

Thanks for all of your hard work and dedication!

See you around,
