Introduction
About whether i believe in

Task
The purpose of this WebQuest is for you to become either a
ghost hunter or a paranormal scientist. By taking on the role
of the person you choose to be, your final task will be to write
a newspaper article supporting your educated opinion. You
will come to this opinion by following the process of the
WebQuest.
Process
Step 1: Before deciding whether you are going to be a ghost hunter or a
paranormal scientist, you need to demonstrate what you already know. Step one
is to write a ghost story that is as believable as you can make it. This story can
be something that has happened to you or something you have heard. It doesn't
matter, as long as it tells about a ghost and sounds true! Print the worksheet and
use it to write your story. When you run out of room on the worksheet, use your
own lined paper to complete your story. Click here to view the worksheet. You can
print the worksheet from this page. To see the criteria for your ghost story, click
here.
Step 2: Once you have completed your story you need to proofread it for errors.
Hand it in to your teacher for it to be evaluated. If you would like to see the
criteria being used for evaluation, click here.
Step 3: Now that you have composed your own ghost story, it is important that
you look at some others that have been published on the Internet. Read and
compare these stories to each other and to your own. On a piece of paper, record
any aspects of the stories that you think could make them either true or false. You
need to keep these notes for your next activity and to be handed in when you
have completed all five steps. To see how you will be evaluated on your notes,

take you to these ghost stories.
Step 4: The next thing you need to do is to organize the notes that you took from
the stories you read. A great way to do this is to build a concept map using
Inspiration or a similar program. Do not print your concept map until you have
completed all five steps. To view a sample of an Inspiration concept map, click
here . Click here if you want to see how you will be marked on your concept map.
Step 5: You should now be at the point where you can decide whether you are a
ghost hunter who believes very much that ghosts are real or a paranormal
scientist who is determined to prove that ghosts are not real. Your final task is to
write a newspaper article convincing the people of the town you live whether
ghosts are real or not. You cannot waver between positions in this article--you
have to provide evidence that you strongly believe in the position from which you
are writing. Try to be as creative as possible with this task. Once you have
completed your newspaper article, gather your notes, your concept map, and your
article to be handed in for evaluation. Click here
Conclusion
Conclusion
You have now completed your ghost WebQuest! I hope you had a lot of fun
discovering whether or not you believe if they are real. Whether you chose to be a
ghost hunter or paranormal scientist, you now have the knowledge to convince
others of your belief.
