The World of Literature through Alfred Nobel

Introduction

Hello!

So you may be wondering, "How are we to learn about amazing English things like literature, reading and the world without Mr. Shatto doing his teacher thing?"  Well, never fear my wonderful students, I have created a quest for you (oh, and I'm still here, but I want you to guide your own educational process too).  The answer: It is a quest to search for the best of literature, the best of science, and the most inspiring medal for peace on our planet.  That's right!  THE NOBEL PRIZE!  Simply click on "Task" and you will begin your Quest!  Oh, and watch out for yeti and other magical creatures.  I mean, it wouldn't be a quest without magical creatures, right?  And! write your answers down in Word, making the format (your answers) easily read. In the end, please print those bad boys out for me, will ya?  You guys rock!

WELCOME TO BONUS MATERIAL (i.e. Not required for your 95% / A)

I have created this Web Quest to guide you in taking ownership of understanding what is out there in the world.  To expand your understanding of Literature by exposing you to something that the world gets excited and interested over, the Nobel Prize (although the United States doesn't seem too excited about at times, in my opinion).

But the real test of this method of teaching is if you are fascinated and want to learn more.  If you do, then go do your own research.  Write down the question you want to know about all of this stuff you are learning, and go find the answer.  I may have forced you on the path, but understanding how Literature, culture, history or even words shape our world...well, that is something only a life-long learner can answer.  Are you a life-long learner?  Will you continually seek betterment for yourself, your family, and ultimately for your God?  Extra Tasks:

1.  Ask the question and write is down for me (Question?  Confused? Watch the video and see if that helps.)

2. Find the answer.

3. Reflect on what all this has meant for you in understanding World Literature better and in a new way

Want to know more about teaching without a teacher?  (Well, sort of without a teacher, cause I'm guiding this.)
