Students research achievements made by Ancient Mayans and give a presentation to the Museum Board to convince them which achievements are most significant.

Introduction

You have been hired by the famous Archeology of the National Museum. Your first job is to help enhance the Mayan's section of the museum.  The Museum Board  feels people need to know more about the Achievements of Ancient Mayan's and how  those achievements  have impacted  our modern society.

You will need to create a posterboard  presentation of the FIVE most important achievements made by the Mayan's.  Your job will be to persuade the museum Board (your classmates) that your choices have had an impact on both the Mayan's society and our modern society. Be sure to read the rubric so you know what is expected of you.

Now that you have collected your information, decide which THREE achievements have made the biggest impact on our modern society.  You will need to prepare a posterboard presentation to convince the Museum Board that your choices are the most significant.  A good presentation will have pictures accompanying each achievement and the impact on both Mesopotamia and our society.

Your job will be to present a 3-5 minute persuasive presentation to your classmates.

Teacher Introduction

This webquest is geared toward the study of Ancient Mayan's achievements.  It is intended for 9th grade students and any other students who are studying Mayan Civilization.  It hits on several standards including research and speaking. Students are required to prepare a persuasive presentation to show what they know.
