Explain what the examination of conscience and sin means.

Find out their sins.

Learn the steps on how to make their confession.

What to do after confession.

This lesson is designed to be thought in a 90 minute period class.

  • Examination of Conscience
  • The Our Father
  • A prayer for after Confession

RCL Benziger’s “Sacamaents” web site enriches and expands the Reconciliation programs.

Visit the”Sacraments” web site by following the link titled “Sacraments” at www.FaithFirs.com

It would be helpful to have a teacher aid to implement the lesson. Especially if the sacrament of confession will be played.

Evaluation

Students will be evaluated if they are ready to go to confession by demonstrating they know their prayers, they really know what sin is and what sins they have committed and are sorry for.

Conclusion

After this lesson, children will not only learn the prayers and steps to go to confession, but also, learn that Jesus forgives their sins and brings peace with God, and the church.
