Introduction
Newton's three laws of motion apply to every movement in the universe, even in your everyday life.
Introduction
This webquest is a fun way to learn about and apply Newton's three laws of motion.
One way that something can change is simply by traveling to a new location. When an object changes its position, we call the change motion. Isaac Newton formulated three laws that apply to every motion in the universe. To understand how this change works and what forces are needed to generate this type of change, this webquest will guide you along the way in your discovery of Newton's three laws.
Task
Task One
You will begin by learning about Newton's three laws of motion. You will discover how inertia affects motion, how force, mass, and acceleration (F= M x A) relate to each other, and how everything has an action and a reaction. You will fill out the worksheet while learning.
Task Two
You will conduct two online experiments and record your results. One experiment involves a halfpipe. The other experiment uses bumper cars.
Process
Newton's 3 Laws Webquest
Process
You will begin by viewing three presentations on Newton's Laws.
1. Please fill out the worksheet while watching the videos.
2. Click on Humpty Dumpty to watch the presentation about Newton's first law.
3. Click on the train to watch the presentation about Newton's second law.
4. Click on the perpetual motion machine to read about Sir Issac Newton and all three of Newton's laws (You will need to click through the first and second laws to get to the third law).
5. When you are finished, please turn in your worksheet. You may begin task two!

Task Two
Now it is time to conduct some experiments online.
- 1. Click on the man pushing the boulder to find one of your experiments.
2. Click on the Moving Car to find your next experiment. Once you reach the site, click on the "Colliding Cars" link. Read the page before you press begin to start the experiment.
