Introduction
Famous author and poet, Edgar Allan Poe is well known for his dramatic use of irony in his works. Many people view his short stories and poetry as "dark and twisted." His life and death have been a controversial issue, as well. 
Task
During this web quest, you will play "detective" and explore information about Poe's life and death. You will read samples of his short stories and poems to familiarize yourself with his writing techniques. While reading his works, you will decide if you think his life had an effect on the way he wrote. By the end of this activity, you will have had become somewhat of an expert on Poe and have insight on the type of works that he has produced.
