3 Native C's

Introduction

Greetings natives! In this assignment, you will have the pleasure of being an undercover detective. You will use a time machine to travel back in time and spy on the Cherokee, Chickasaw, and Creek Indians.  This mission will include an amazing journey of learning new things, meeting new acquaintances and making amazing memories. You will need to use clues and evidence to get concrete information. Let's begin!

Task

On this mission, you and your fellow class detectives will travel back to 1710 to explore the lives of the Cherokee, Creek and Chickasaw Indians. You will be in the disquise of a distant cousin of the tribe to come and visit, so dress accordingly. You will need to use any clues and evidence to explain their lifestyles, customs and traditions. To find out the most information possible, it will be a good idea to become great acquaintances with each of these tribes. After gaining evidence, clues and facts about these tribes, you will create a life size brochure to explain each lifestyle to keep on file for future reference. The lifesize brochure will be made on a tri-fold poster board as you and your designated detectives present the information to other detectives in order to reduce crime amongst each tribe.

Process

After first being assigned to groups of 3, you will need to use the websites below to answer these questions for each tribe and present them on your life size brochure. Pay attention to clues and hard evidence.

  • What tribe did you investigate?

  • What kinds of foods do they eat?
  • What are their houses made of?
  • How did each individual contribute to the entire tribe such as women, children, and men?
