How many animals do you know that can lay eggs? By using this WebQuest, you can learn about different types of animals that lay eggs.

Task
During this WebQuest you will:
- Find out about different types of animals that lay eggs.
- Learn key information about 2-3 animals that lay eggs.
- Make a book with information about each animal you found.
Now, you are ready to start the process and begin your WebQuest.
Process
To start your Webquest, read the books Chicken Big by Keith Graves and Chicken Scrathes by George Shannon and Lynn Brunelle.
Each student MUST make a blank book with 6 - 8 pages and a front and back cover. You will need to have space on each page for drawing and writing. On the cover, write the title: “Who Can Lay Eggs?” and your name.
Now, you are ready to click on the different kinds of animals that lay eggs (oviparous). After you learn about each kind of animal, draw a picture of 2-3 animals and write 3 facts about each of them in your book. When your book is complete, share it with your classmates.
Evaluation
Students will be assessed individually based on their ability to work with their partner and on the quality of the book that they produce. The student-created book should include the following elements:
- Cover page with name of student and title of book.
- Illustrations of each animal with recognizable details.
- Factual information presented through student writing.

Now, you are ready to share everything that you have learned with another classmate. First, choose a classmate to read your book to. Make sure that the person you pick sees your pictures and gives you a positive comment about your book. Next, let your classmate read their book to you. Be sure to give a positive comment to them.
