Muscle and Skeletal Anatomy

Introduction

This page allows students to explore websites to gian knowledge on muscle and skeletal anatomy by playing games, labeling diagrams and doing quizes. Try, make mistakes, practice and most important, enjoy and have fun learning!

Answers

  1. Sartorius muscle
  2. Deep in the ear
  3. 20 muscles
  4. Ball and Socket, ellipsoidal, pivot, hinge, saddle, and gliding (plane)
  5. Fibula
  6. When a bone moves around in a circle or all around a joint, like a pendulum.
  7. Support of the trunk, protection of organs and tissues, lever of movement, production of red blood cells, and storage for minerals
  8. The ā€˜S’ curvature allows the vertebral column to absorb shocks from walking or running on hard surfaces, enables weight distribution,  protects the vertebral column from breaking.
  9. The Erector Spinae muscle holds the spine upright or erect. It originates from the sacrum, inserts into the posterior ribs, occiput, transverse processes, ilium and spinous processes.
  10. The knee joint is the largest and most complicated due to that the femur and tibia must glide, roll and spin and stay on the tibia.
