Purpose:
The Rhyming Words WebQuest was designed to introduce rhyming words to Preschool students.The teacher or a parent may need to work with his/her child/student while exploring this WebQuest.
Learner Description:
This Rhyming Words WebQuest was designed for Preschool students, but would be appropriate for struggling and/or gifted students.
Prerequisites:
Students will need to know how to use a mouse and the keyboard. Students will also need to be able to follow simple 2 step directions.
Instructional Objectives:
Students will be able to:
- Identify rhyming words
- State what rhyming words are.
- State their own rhyming words.
- Follow 2 step directions
- Use a mouse and keyboard
Standards Addressed:
- Early Learning Expectation: Spoken Language: Expressive. Children develop abilities to express themselves clearly and communicate ideas to others.
- Early Learning Expectation: Viewing Images and Other Media Materials. Children begin to develop strategies that assist them in viewing a variety of images and multimedia materials effectively and critically.
- Early Learning Expectation: Research and Information Literacy. With adult support and supervision, children interact with developmentally appropriate Internet based resources. With adult support, children use developmentally appropriate digital resources to locate and use information relating to a topic under study.
Assessment:
Students will be assessed and graded on their efforts and performance abilities. I would go through the rubric with the student before hand so he/she has a solid understanding of what is expected from the WebQuest.
