- Vistit this website, and read the pros and cons of school uniforms; then make a T-chart of the pros and cons using bullets and key words or phrases.
- Fill out your opinion essay graphic organizer.
- Write an opinion essay.
Evaluation
- Does my essay have a good title?
- Does my essay have a good introduction with a grabber, background and controversy, and thesis statement?
- Does each of the body paragraphs have a reason, facts, counter-argument and refute or concede parts?
- Did I paraphrase the reasons and thesis statement?
- Did I close with a bang and a call for action?

You can use this proces to discuss any controversial issue in your favor successfully.
