With over 200 bones in the human body, the skeletal system plays a vital role in providing framework, protection of internal organs, fat storage, and the manufacturing of blood cells. Attached to this system are approximately 600-700 skeletal muscles that both account for 1/2 of our body weight and provide a basis for movement -- Each one as significant as the next.
By the end of this Webquest, you will have a strong foundation and understanding of the musculoskeltal system, and what comprises it.
