Task
Students,
you will be placed in groups of four. In your groups you will work collectively and design a herb garden that will be built in the year 2 area. In addition to your task you will need to identify, explore, and organise information and ideas to consider where is the most beneficial place to build the herb garden (within the year 2 area) at school.
In your groups you will need to investigate what are herbs, what herbs will grow successfully in our climate, what herbs are used for, and what are the basic needs of herbs in order for them live and provide food.
Each group will present their design of the herb garden along with their information and design using "Pictochart" http://piktochart.com/
Process
Step 1:
Together as a whole class we will discuss and investigate what we know about herbs using the who, what, where, when, why and how strategy. As we discover new information we will use an interactive mindmap to store our ideas.
