History of Technology

Introduction

The purpose of this lessons is to familiarize students with the role of technology and inventions throughout history. It will also show students how inventions have impacted human life today.



















Task

Task 1 :

Technology Timeline is a research project.  You will design your project on any Software or App of your choice.

You choose two topics that you wish to research.  If you prefer to research a different technology "topic" then please confirm with Mrs. Candler.

  • Hardware – {Example: Motherboard, RAM and ROM}.
  • Software – Application Software such as Microsoft Office or Operating Software such as Windows.
  • Social Media
  • Latest technology

Task 2:

In this task you will create a spreadsheet. (Microsoft Excel).

You will need to apply:

Task 3:

  1. Create a brochure in Publisher.
  2. Apply Publisher Criteria list.

 

Task 4:

  1. All sources should be done via http://easybib.com/
  2. Apply bullets and numbers

 

Task 5:

  1. Integrated all tasks via hyperlinks
  2. All work should be saved in www.showbie.com






Process

Process 1 :                                 Criteria

The presentation should contain:


A title page with credits


A homepage containing all the connections
Each connection on the homepage should be a link to corresponding page
The homepage should be accessible from all other pages
A help page explaining the features of the presentation

Navigation through presentation by buttons or hyperlinks
Each connection page should contain an animation and picture
Transitions between pages

 Each connection page should explain the connection and the impact of the discovery/invention/idea
Quit at any time

The last connection should link to the first
Incorporating video will count as extra credit

Process 2:

In this task you will create a spreadsheet. (Microsoft Excel).

You will need to apply:

  1. 5 formulas.
  2. Sort your product.
  3. Auto fill
  4. Format your cells.
  5. Apply in local  currency.
  6. Insert a picture.
  7. Create a hyperlink to a website.
  8. Merge cells

Process 3:

  1. Create a brochure in Publisher.
  2. Apply Publisher Criteria list.
