THE TRAVELER: BLOOD

Introduction

INTRODUCTION

This Web Quest is designed for High School or the 7th Grader Science students. This Web Quest will help the students be familiarize on how human blood circulates on our body. Students will be able to understand its concept easily and how it works. All of our body systems have to work together in order to keep us alive and well. Students will be exploring the parts of human body by using web resources and answering the questions that correlate to the specific questions. The students may use the resources on this page, or use search engines to find what you’re looking for. Answer each question on your paper with complete sentences and you must put the question in the answer.

Task

T A S K

As you went through this Web Quest, you will learn as well as enjoy the concept. You may find your group in the class and be able to perform the tasks asked in this Quest. Your group will be able to identify the main organ involve in the circulatory system, know the primary function of the circulatory system, distinguish the types of blood vessels and be able to describe it, what is the blood made of, normal heart beat per minute, and lastly show to the class your representation of a size of the heart and many more. As you determine what is being ask in the task through the help of web resources provided in this web quest, your group will document your answers/findings. Finally, at the end your group will be given a 3 to 4 minute's presentation through PowerPoint presentation.

Process

P R O C E S S

1. You may begin performing tasks and finding out what is being asked with the aid of the web resources provided below:

Aside from the web resources provided, the students are given the freedom to explore more internet resources and textbooks that may be available in the library.

  • Fundamentals in Nursing by Kozier & Erbs (any edition)
  • Medical Surgical Nursing Book (any edition)

Another is, you may watch this video for further understanding of the concept.

As for you guidelines:

~ Main organ involve in the circulatory system, describe it.

~ Primary Function of the Circulatory System.

~ Types of blood vessels, describe each.

~ Blood is made of what, explain.

~ Heart beat per minute.

~ Representation/example of objects that is is similar to the heart size.

2. After opening and reading the information in each internet resources and videos, you may now begin collecting, correlating and inputing the information that your group gathered.

3. You may now begin creating your PowerPoint presentation. Make it creative, short yet informative.

4. For individual work, write and submit your journal/reflection on what have you learned and what it is to you as a student.

Conclusion

C O N C L U S I O N

After completion of the task and this project, you are expected to be equipped with knowledge about the topic given. You should be familiar with the routes of blood, how it circulates, size, heart beat, organ involve, blood vessels and the like. It is likely the students to demonstrate such knowledge and a better understanding of such particular topic in the field of science.

I am excited to see your group presentation and hear what have you learned.

Great Job!!! :)
