Introduction
Emperor Mao was the Leader of the Chinese Communist Party. He was born on December 26 1893 to a peasant family in central China.
As a young man he trained as a teacher, then went on to work at the University Library in Beijing. It was at this time that he became interested in Marxist ideology. In 1921, he became the founding member of the Chinese Communist Party.
