Types of Family

Introduction

1. Students will describe the family type they live in. Their responses will be noted.

2. They will compare the different family types mentioned. 

3. Students will use their tablets to find the definition of family

Task

Students will indvidually do google search and will be required to collaborate with each other in making models.

Process

1. Students will describe the family type they live in. Their responses will be noted.

2. They will compare the different family types mentioned. 

3. Students will use their tablets to find the definition of family

4. Teacher will project both students' and teacher's definitions and as a group select an appropriate definition.

5. Students will be placed into groups according to ability to draw, cut and colour. 

6. Students will display the models completed

7. Students will demonstrate their different family types through role play

Evaluation

1. Students will state the different family types (4 marks)

2. Students will compare two of the family types listed. (4 marks)

3. Draw and label their family type (6 marks)

4. Identify two problems children from single parent families may face and suggest two solutions to problems identified. (6 marks)
