Introduction
Water conservation is becoming increasingly important as communities, towns, citites, states and nations worry about water scarcity resulting from global warming, as well as the trend of global drying which is impacting the avaliability of water around the globe. The well being of large parts of the global population is under threat from the lack of water resources avaliable to them. This is set to increase in the future.
Water projects are developing at an increasing rate aiming to use recycle waste water into water that can be re-used, create income and reduced the strain on communities water resources.

Task
Welcome Year 7s.
Over the course of this double module we will be working our way through this webquest on water scarcity.
You are welcome to work in pairs or individually.
You will need access to headphones and will be required to submit your work to the LMS (Learner Management System)
Before you start have a think about your personal water consumption.
Access to clean water is something we all take for granted, take a moment and reflect next time you fill up your water bottle at the drinking fountains or take a second shower after sports practice.

2) Summarise the impact of water scarcity on human well being
1) View the following two clips (you will need your headphones) and take note of key points that stand out to you
Cutting edge ideas for drinking water

This webquest was created by April Bickley to encourage students to think about water as a valuable resource and to encourage students to reflect upon their own consumption and usage.
This webquest will ask students to view a variety of different sources, as part of an investigation relating to the Year 7 unit Water in the world, content description: The ways that flows of water connect places as it moves through the environment and the way this affects places (ACHGK038), The classification of environmental resources and the forms that water takes as a resource (ACHGK037), The nature of water scarcity and ways of overcoming it, including studies drawn from Australia and West Asia and/or North Africa (ACHGK038). Students will be encouraged to work either in pairs or independently and their participation and notes, will be used to assess their overall achievement of the task. Students will have one double module to complete this webquest.
