Introduction
This webquest is for you to learn about the life cycle of the butterfly. You will discover the four different stages of the butterfly’s life cycle and define important vocabulary words related to butterflies. Have you ever watched a beautiful butterfly and wished you could catch it and watch it more closely? Do you know what it looked like before it became a butterfly? By completing this WebQuest, you will learn many interesting things about butterflies, see them up close and you will get to see them change right before your eyes!

Task
To become a butterfly expert, there are a few things you need to complete.
You will:
- Watch a video on the life cycle of a butterfly
- Watch a video on Eric Carle's The Very Hungry Caterpillar
- Complete two activities!
- Create a poster on The Life Cycle of a Butterfly
- Discuss the life cycle of a butterfly
- Complete the evaluation worksheet
- Go home and explain what you leared to your parents.

Activity #2
There a four stages of a butterflies life cycle. You and your partner will now get to make a poster which shows the 4 stages of development.
Make sure you are creative and neat. You may use any of the art supplies at the craft table you need to complete the poster.
