The American Revolution

Introduction

The students will take on the role of an important person from the American Revolution. After conducting research on this person, the group will write a journal entry as if they were this important person.

The important people are George Washington, Betsy Ross, John Hancock, and Paul Revere.

Task

Group 1- George Washington

Group 2- Paul Revere

Group 3- John Hancock

Group 4- Betsy Ross

There are different roles for the group memebers.

Presenter- One memeber of the group will read the journal entry aloud to the class.

Recorder- One memeber will record the important points about their person.

Writer- One memeber will write the journal entry with the groups ideas.

Illustrator- One memeber will draw a picture to go along with their journal entry.

Process

The students will divide into 4 groups of 4. Each person will pull a card to decide which role they will particpate in. After the student discovers their role, they will look under the task tab to understand what each role does. The students will click on the following links to help them learn about their important person.
