Introduction
A cloud is a visible mass of condensed water vapor floating in the atmosphere above the ground. Cloud formation results when warm, humid air rises and cools, causing the water vapor in the air to condense and form clouds. There are different types of clouds and all of them are important to our weather.
Task
How will you dress for school? The class will be broken into teams. Each team will be the school's weather team for the week and going to determine the forecast for their week. You will tell your classmates what would be the appropriate clothes to wear based on the weeks weather prediction.
Process
The process consist of:
Reading books about clouds
Researching internet sites about clouds
Completing a worksheet identifying cloud formation
Draw a picture of a cloud that matches the four types of clouds
Evaluate the weather today with the weather predicted for tomorrow
Evaluate each team
Evaluation
The cloud rubric will be used to evaluate each team's performance. Each team will evaluate each other and the teacher will do the final evaluation based on the student's evaluation and her own.
Conclusion
Congratulations you can now identify the types of clouds and make a predication of the weather based on the cloud formation.
