Are you getting excited?! On May 1st the 4th grade will be taking their annual trip to Raleigh, North Carolina.

Capitol

The North Carolina State Capitol, completed in 1840, is one of the finest and best-preserved examples of a major civic building in the Greek Revival style of architecture. It is a National Historic Landmark. http://www.nchistoricsites.org/capitol/

The Legislative Building

The North Carolina State Legislative Building is the current meeting place of the North Carolina General Assembly, the state legislature of the U.S. state of North Carolina. It was opened in 1963, replacing the North Carolina State Capitol as the home of the legislature since 1840. Wikipedia

Union Square

Union Square is an oasis of green, constantly traversed by politicians, schoolchildren, office workers, tourists, and pigeons. They move daily through a memorial landscape shaded by a grove of great oaks, centered on the classical State Capitol, for almost two centuries, North Carolinians have placed memorials to honer individuals, events and the causes they valued 

North Carolina Museum of Natural Science

The Museum features nine different exhibit halls which show the diversity and depth of North Carolina’s natural habitats, and three floors of exhibits, labs and interactive areas in its new wing, the Nature Research Center. Every year, half a million visitors explore the natural world — from whales to worms, mountains to manatees — without ever leaving Raleigh.

North Carolina Museum of History
