- What are some of the body parts and elements involved in breathing? (Mouth, breathing tubes, oxygen, carbon dioxide, blood.)
- Have you heard of the respiratory system before?
- Why do you think it is called a system?
Task
Explain to students that they will visit two websites to learn more about respiration as a prelude to building models. The goal of this activity is to gain a broad understanding of models and systems, rather than a detailed recollection of the parts and functions of respiration.
