Introduction
You are about to embark on an adventure about women in wartime. You will compare two women in two different wars and their roles.
The first one is Mary Slocumb and the second one is Emiliene Piggott.
Task
It is your job to take these two different women from different wars and compare their roles. You may choose to use posterboard to demonstrate this or you may choose a powerpoint. You will present your research to the class.
Process
For Mary Slocumb, use the website: www.examiner.com/mary-mary-quite-patriotic.
Tell what her role was in the American Revolutionary War. What battle was she an important part of? Which side did she help?
For Emiliene Piggott, use the website: www.ncdcr.gov (find Emeline Piggott)
Tell what her role was in the Civil War. Which side did she help? What was fascinating about "how" she played spy?
YOU WILL NEED TO FIND OTHER WEBSITES FOR INFORMATION ABOUT EACH OF THESE WOMEN. Remember to document them!
Any other information you can share with us about these two remarkable women would be great :-)
Evaluation
Evaluation or grading will be based on a rubric system, with 100 points total. Information collected will be 75 points of your total grade. (remember the more you give me the more you points you earn)
Neatness and appearance will be worth 15 points.
Presentation of projects will be worth 10 points.
Conclusion
Now it is time for you to share what you learned about these two remarkable women with the class. Yes, some information may be repeated but I bet if you dig deep enough you may find something unique.
Remember you are making a poster with each woman. You may do two separate posters or you may choose to do one poster and compare.
Be creative and have fun!!!
