What we are looking for:
1st paragraph: Intro to the paper
*Introduce your person; make the reader want to read about him/her.
2nd paragraph: Personal information
*Give dates of birth and death
*Tell about childhood/ family life
*Share information about schooling/education received
3rd paragraph: Involved in the war
*How did this person get involved in the war?
*What contributions did this individual make to the war?
4th paragraph: Effects of the contribution
*What was significant about this contribution/this war involvement?
*Are these contributions still felt today? Changes made as a result of this individual?
5th paragraph: Conclusion
*Wrap up the life and contributions of this individual
*Remind the reader why this person was important in the war
*Remember, throughout the paper your paragraphs start with a topic sentence and end with a conclusion that refers BACK to the topic sentence. Details in the paragraphs need to support your topic sentence. All three parts need to work TOGETHER!
** Scoring will be based on the general writing rubric you have seen in the past with an emphasis on the sharing of the information you found when researching.
Conclusion
You have the task of finding personal information about one of the many important people who were a part of World War II. You will be expected to create a brief (400 - 500 words) summary of the information about this individual that will be of interest for others to read. It is possible that your work will be posted in the hallway for others to enjoy, so be engaging in your writing.
