Introduction
Any book that helps a child to form a habit of reading,
to make reading one of his deep and continuing needs,
is good for him.
---Maya Angelou
Since man first began to share his thoughts and ideas by scrawling pictures in red ochre on cave walls, there have literally been thousands, if not millions, of books produced. To teach them all in a year would be an impossible feat, but to be introduced to the major players, the "heavy-hitters" as it were, now that, my friends, is a horse of a different color. Come along, and be introduced to some of the most famous contributers to the written word.
Task
It is the year 2322. You are an apprentice curator at the Martian Museum of Universal Antiquities. Your boss, Qualax Umidor, has decided to give you a special project, an audition as it were, to see if you are ready to become a full-fledged curator. You will be put in charge of the literature display for the planet Earth. Because of the sheer quantity of information that has been transported to Mars from Earth in the great Milky Way Uprising of 2015, you will have a great task ahead of you. Qualax has asked that you compile this information, as well as your thoughts and responses, in a presentation depicting the wide variety of Earthling genres. "In addition," he says, pouring some more mogoro juice into his goblet, "I'd like a list of books to read on my trip to Neptune this summer. My filminator is broken and I need something to preoccupy me." You sigh, but are thrilled at the prospect of proving yourself.
Let's get started.
Process
First, you'll need to figure out where to begin. You type the following words into your filminator: Major Contributors in Earthling Literature. Three items pop up on the screen.
