Introduction

Welcome to 'Episodes with Ms.Stephenson,' this platform was designed to help students understand and apply the basic skills required to play netball effectively, with a special focus on passing, catching, shooting, pivoting, and landing techniques. Netball is a fast-paced, team-based sport that depends on sharp movement, accurate passing, and strong communication. Mastering the fundamentals is essential not only for success in the game but also for building confidence and teamwork on the court.

      In this, you will find a  detailed navigation that explains the lesson about the basic skills in netball, such as the Passing; the chest pass, bounce pass, overhead pass, and shoulder pass. You will also learn about different catching methods, including the two-handed and one-handed catch, and how they are used. Shooting, which is a key skill used only by the Goal Shooter and Goal Attack, will be covered with emphasis on proper form, balance, and control. Additionally, you will explore pivoting—a technique used to change direction while maintaining your grounded foot—and landing methods like the one-two landing and simultaneous landing, which are important for maintaining legal footwork and smooth transitions during play; all your resources are located in google classroom.

Step 3: Watch the Instructional Videos

  • After reading the notes, watch the short videos demonstrating each skill.
  • Pay attention to body movements, positioning, and technique.

Step 4: Take the Quiz

  • Go to the “Netball Skills Quiz” in the Classroom.
  • Answer all 18 questions (mix of multiple choice and short answers).

Step 5: Reflect

  • At the end of the assignment, write 5 things you’ve learned during this lesson.

  • Student can identify only 2 or 3 skills with limited understanding.

Quiz Accuracy (18 questions)
  • Student answers 15 to 18 questions correctly.
  • Student answers 10 to 14 questions correctly.

Reflection (5 clear points)
  • Student writes 5 proper sentences, each showing what was learned in the lesson.
  • Student writes 3 or 4 short or unclear points with some effort shown.

Total: 60 Points

Excellent = 50–60

Satisfactory = 35–49

Needs Improvement = Below 35
