Native American Cultural Regions

Introduction

This activity is designed for you to identify Native American cultural regions. Native cultural regions are regions with the same cultural characteristics. Students should be able to describe the origins, characteristics, and expansion of indigenous culture on the chart provided.

Task

Each student will work independently to find the information needed for the chart. I have attached a few links to help you find your information. After filling out your chart with the information found in the links I have provided, students will create a poster of their chosen region. The poster should include pictures or explanations of the tribes geography, agriculture, culture, and architecture.

Process

Step 1: Each student picks one Native American region. 

Step 2: Each student will be given a worksheet chart to fill out. 

Step 3: Research your tribe using the link I have provided. 

Step 4: Make a poster and prepare to present your poster

Step 5: Complete the worksheet based on the other student's presentation.

This WebQuest was created for 5th grade students to learn about geography and cultural aspects. We are able to see how the Native Americans lived relating to their environment.
