My First Book Learning Experience

Introduction

Book knowledge refers to a child’s understanding of the basic features and structure of a book, which serves as a guide for meaningful reading experiences. This includes recognizing the different parts of a book such as the front cover, back cover, and individual pages, as well as identifying key elements like the title, illustrations, text, author, and illustrator. In addition, book knowledge involves learning the proper way to handle and read a book, including how to turn pages and follow the direction of text.

Task

By the end of the lesson the pupils will be able to understand the story told by the teacher

Process

The teacher will introduce the parts of the book. They will start with the cover pages; the front and back cover. They will introduce the parts of the front cover; the title, the illustrations, the author's name, and the illustrator's names. Then they will introduce the pages inside the book; the title page, then the page numbers. And finally they will teach the pupils how to read, from left to right, top to bottom.

Evaluation

The teacher will then ask the pupils if they have followed along with the story she has read and ask them what important lesson they learned about the story

Conclusion

Book knowledge should be about how to take care of a book, and beyond that, how to comprehend what is written
