Introduction
It’s almost Christmas! Your parents has given you a $100 to go shopping for yourself!
The objective of this activity is for you to create and use a budget to get all of things you want for Christmas without overspending.

Task
You were given $100 to go Christmas Shopping for yourself. Without going over budget, shop for all of the things you want for Christmas. Complete the Christmas Budget Sheet and write a paragraph that answers the following questions:
- What did you buy with your $100?
- Did you stay on budget?
Do you think you can handle it?
Process
- Browse ads from different Department Stores.
- Create a “Wish List” of all the items that you want in your Journal.
- Complete the provided Christmas Budget Sheet. Make sure to include the prices. Calculate the total amount that you will need for all of the items that you want for Christmas. Make adjustments as needed to ensure that you stay within your $100 budget.
- Glue the “Christmas Budget Sheet in your Journal behind your “Wish List”.
- Complete the Reflection Questions on a separate sheet of paper and turnt hem in to Mrs. Reed.

Conclusion
Give your journal entry to someone. Once you have your partner’s worksheet, you need to do the following.
- Review the ad’s that your partner chose. Make sure that the item and the price are listed on the Budget Sheet.
- Double Check to see if you parent spent more than $100. If they didn’t spend a $100, then calculate the amount of money they should have left over.
