Task

Your grade will be based off of 3 sheets.

1.) The sheet with 3 checks on it.

2.) The balance sheet.

3.) Your math calculation worksheet. (showing all of your work)

Process

You will balance your account on the balance sheet provided. Each student is given $400 to start with. 3 checks have to be written total. You may choose which transactions you write the checks for, as long as there are 3! Your main goal in life is to save as much money as possible, so try and find your favorite things, but at the best price. Don't spend all your money, you much get through the activity with money in your account!!!!!

Step 1: Look at your balance sheet, and you will see that I have already built in some credits. You will get $10.00 for having a good report card. You will also shovel snow for your neighbors to earn some cash as well. Make sure to include those in your calculations!

Step 2: You will need to buy breakfast, lunch, and dinner from any resturants you would like. Most all restaurants have a menu with prices on them so you can see what your bill would be. If you are eating breakfast or lunch make sure to give them a tip of at least 15%. If you are eating dinner make sure to leave a tip of at least 20%. You will need to by an outfit for the holidays. You will buy 1 top, 1 bottom, 1 pair of shoes, and accessories. 2 of the pieces of clothing have to be on sale (find the discount price). The other two items of your outfit do not have to be on sale, but you have to add the 6% VA sales tax.

Step 3: You will need to by an outfit for the holidays. You will buy 1 top, 1 bottom, 1 pair of shoes, and accessories. 2 of the pieces of clothing have to be on sale (find the discount price). The other two items of your outfit do not have to be on sale, but you have to add the 6% VA sales tax. You may buy some extra accessories, I left extra lines if you want to complete your outfit, that is optional.

Step 4: You have to buy me a gift for the holidays. The price depends on what you get me, but it can't be more than $30. Make sure you add a sales tax of 6%.

Step 5: Double Check that everything is completed the way it is supposed to be, and all work is shown before turning in.

You have until Friday. 12/19 Good luck, don't spend too much!
