Roman Accomplishments

Introduction

The ancient Romans were excellent innovators.  Whenever they came across a good idea they would adopt it and often improve it.  Many of these innovations and accomplishments effect us today. 

Task

    You will use the internet to identify and understand how the ancient Romans innovated ideas that still effect us today. Follow the links provided in the process section to find all 10 accomplishments. 

Process

Use the following links to complete the Roman Accomplishments grid.  Make sure to use proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation.  You must identify and describe each accomplishment as well as explain how it still affects people today.

Evaluation

You will be evaluated in two ways: 

1.  Completion and accuracy of all 10 accomplishments on Roman grid.  This will be a citizenship grade.  

2.  Completion of persuasive paragraph, citing one piece of evidence correctly, on what the greatest Roman accomplishment was.  This will be an accademic grade.  

3.  Use this format to create your own paragraph on notebook paper, remember to cite correctly.

 

4.  Staple your paragraph to your Roman Accomplishments grid and turn in. 

Conclusion

The Roman Empire was an extremely successful superpower.  Although ancient, the Romans were forward thinking and improved upon many ideas.  If you look around our modern world you can see that ancient Romans influenced many things around us.
