Chromosomes, DNA and gene

Introduction

Chromosome is a structure made of DNA and histones, found in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells. DNA stands for deoxyribonucleic acid. It is found in the nuclei of cells and is slightly acidic. Our DNA carries the genetic code (A set of instructions telling the cell the sequence in which to link together amino acids when proteins are being synthesized). Genes are a sequence of DNA nucleotides that codes for a polypeptide.
