Introduction
Attention citizens! There are some dangerous outlaws in the area. We need your help to round them up. These outlaws are extremely elusive, due to their small size. Can you help us find them?
Task
Fantastic. Thanks for your help. Here's the plan. We need to to research these tiny outlaws. They go by the name of "bacteria". Once you learn as much as you can, you can help design a "Wanted" poster for one of these outlaws. We will present your posters to each other at a town meeting and hopefully we can collect them all!
Process
Step 1: Complete the webquest found here.
Step 2: Use your new-found knowledge to create a Wanted poster for your assigned bacterium. Your poster should contain:
- Bacterium name
- Bacterium shape (spiral, rod, sphere)
- Bacterium Kingdom
- How does it get its energy?
- Gram stain
- Photo of bacteria
- Common hangouts
Step 3: Present your poster at our class poster session.
Evaluation
This project is for a homeschool cooperative course that is not graded.
Educators are encouraged to review the requirements of the project to create their own rubric for their class. Some points to consider:
- Did the student answer the worksheet completely.
- Did the student include all the require information on the poster?
- Was the student knowlegable during the poster session?
