How much do you know about Mexico? When you think about Mexico what comes to mind? In this WebQuest, you will learn about the geography, history, and culture of Mexico. Your essential questions are as follows:
*What kind of relations have Mexico and the United States maintained as neighbors?
*What are some historical events that have shaped the country?
*What is Mexico's place in the world today?
Task

You will be completing three tasks for this WebQuest.
#1. Summarize three events in Mexico's history
#2. Watch a video and create a comic book that describes what you learned
#3. Research about Mexico today
Process
Essential Question #1: What kind of relations have Mexico and the United States maintained as neighbors?

Visit the following website above and choose one event from two out of the following three periods of time: A Changing Border (1810-1910), Revolution and Migration (1910-1994), and Economic Intergration (1994-Present). After you have chosen your events, google your event to find out more information about it. Write a paragragraph summary of each event. Including an active url/ citation with your paragraph.
Essential Question #2: What are some historical events that have shaped the country?
Directions: Choose one of the videos linked below to watch. After you finish, create a comic that answers the question that goes with your selected video. Essential Question #3: What is Mexico's place in the world today?
Use google and conduct a search to answer the questions below. Make sure to cite your sources by writing down the URL of your website for each question answered. Do not use Wikipedia for this task.
What geographical features make Mexico unique? Choose one geographical feature and explain the feature in 1-3 sentences. Include a picture of the feature to go along with your description.
Who is the president of Mexico? Include a picture of him in your description.
What is NAFTA? Explain its purpose in 3-5 sentences. Include a picture of the flag of each country involved.
What are some unique features of Mexico's culture (food, entertainment, traditions, etc)? Write a paragraph that describes one of those features. Include a picture to go along with your written description.
Evaluation
You will be graded on the following:
Accuracy and completeness
Your submitted project should be factually based and complete. Make sure to double check your work. Is the information you presented correct? Did you complete each section according to directions?
Neatness of your work
Your submitted project should be free of misspellings and punctuation mistakes, easy to read, and all pictures must look neat and/or relate to your content.
Creativity
Your submitted project should reflect originality and effort (in other words, doesn't look rushed). All writen work highlights your voice as an author and drawings/ pictures reflect the content.
Citations
Did you cite your sources? Each citation needs a clickable link that takes me to the page that you were actually viewing. If there are any issues with a webpage, you need to talk to me before the WebQuest is do and fill out a special form that I sign off on.
Conclusion
I hope you enjoyed this WebQuest. You can receive 1 extra credit point by writing a separate reflection that answers the following questions:
