Current Issues WebQuest

Introduction

Welcome to the Mrs. Rickli's WebQuest!

As you know, it is important to be "in the know" when it comes to current events and issues around the world.  The more you know, the more you can discuss and share with others.  You can continue to form your own opinions on issues and make connections with local, national, and international events.

Today, you will be exploring news websites in small groups in order to present a news brief for your classmates.  Each student is expected to report on at least 2 current events.

Click on TASK for your list of instructions

Task

1.  In your small group (of 3), choose news reporter roles:

LOCAL news: report on stories in and around your city or state

NATIONAL news: report on stories throughout the United States

WORLD news: report on stories in countries outside of the United States

Once you set your chosen roles and check out the websites provided under each category, you will take notes and summarize the news stories you are choosing to present to the class.  Your notes and summaries will go on the WebQuest handout provided by your teacher. Remember that you are reporting on at least 2 current events each.
