HELLO, IT'S NICE TO SEE YOU HERE!

IF YOU LIKE TRAVELING AND LEARNING ABOUT OTHER PLACES AND CULTURES THEN THIS ACTIVITY IS FOR YOU, I AM SURE YOU WILL ENJOY IT.

 

WE WILL CERTAINLY HAVE A FUNNY AND EXCITING TRIP AROUND FIVE ENGLISH SPEAKING CITIES YOU WILL CHOOSE.

LET'S GO!

Task

THE TRIP BEGINS...

1. MY PARTNERS: WORK IN GROUPS OF THREE 

2. MY DESTINATION: CHOOSE AN ENGLISH SPEAKING CITY YOU WANT TO EXPLORE AND INCLUDE IN THE TOP 5 OF OUR GROUP. THE CITY CAN BE LOCATED IN NORTH AMERICA, EUROPE OR  AUSTRALIA.

3. RESEARCH TIME: LOOK UP SOME INFORMATION ON HOW TO GET THERE: TICKET COST, FLIGHT TIME; ACCOMODATION OPTIONS (INCLUDING PRICE AND LOCATION), WAYS TO GO AROUND THE CITY.

4. TIME TO SPEAK: WITH THIS INFORMATION MAKE A PRESENTATION FOR OUR GROUP. IT'S THE TIME TO SHARE IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR CITY WITH YOUR CLASSMATES.

5. LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTIONLOOK UP ABOUT THE BEST SIGHTS AND TOURIST ATTRACTIONS IN YOUR CITY. WHAT CAN YOU DO? WHAT CAN YOU SEE? WHERE CAN YOU EAT? WHERE CAN YOU HAVE A GOOD NIGHT ENTERTAINMENT? PLAN A 3 DAY REAL ITINERARY, INCLUDE AN APPROXIMATE BUDGET. WITH THIS INFORMATION MAKE A BEATIFUL AND APPEALING PROMOTIONAL VIDEO TO SHOW YOUR CITY.

IMPORTANT: In the video all the members of the team have to speak.

6. SHARE YOUR VIDEO: UPLOAD YOUR VIDEO ON YOUTUBE, SHARE THE LINK WITH YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY. THE VIDEO WITH MORE VISITS AND COMMENTS (IN ENGLISH) WILL GET AN ADDITIONAL 5.0.

Process

STEPS TO WORK IN YOUR PROJECT:

 

Week 1 

-      MAKE YOUR GROUP

-      CHOOSE AN ENGLISH SPEAKING CITY.

-      BEGIN RESEARCH ON THE ASPECTS TO PREPARE A PRESENTATION FOR THE CLASS. (REVIEW POINT  3 IN THE TASK EXPLANATION BEFORE)

 

 

Week 2

PRESENT THE INFORMATION TO THE CLASS.  You can use a power point, prezi or any other tool to present your city.

(Creativity of the presentation will be evaluated). 

THIS IS THE FIRST PART OF THE PROJECT. (50%)

 

Week 3

 

-      LOOK UP INFORMATION ABOUT THE BEST PLACES TO SEE AND BEST ACTIVITIES TO DO IN YOUR CITY.

-      PLAN A 3 DAY ITINERARY FOR VISITORS. USE LANGUAGE AND EXPRESSIONS LEARNED IN THE COURSE ON UNITS 3 AND 5. EXPRESSIONS ON PAGE 34 AND 35 OF THE STUDENT BOOK ARE ESPECIALLY USEFUL.

-      MAKE A VERY CREATIVE PROMOTIONAL VIDEO ABOUT YOUR CITY.

 

Week 4

UPLOAD THE VIDEO ON YOUTUBE .  SHARE THE LINK WITH YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY. THE VIDEO WITH MORE VISITS AND COMMENTS (IN ENGLISH) WILL GET AN EXTRA 5.0 GRADE IN QUICES.

THIS IS THE SECOND PART OF THE PROJECT. (50%)

CREATIVITY

 

The creativity of the group is amazing. You take this activity to a great level, by using different resources and materials. You show a lot of commitment with the project.

The group is creative and uses some techniques and resources to make a good job.

The presentation is not creative.

The group doesn’t show interest in making a good product.

 

 

 

LANGUAGE

The students use appropriate language and expressions learned in class to talk travelling.

 The grammar use is very accurate.

Pronunciation is correct and clear, previous practice is evident

The presentation is very well prepared, it’s very dynamic and motivating. Everyone in the group participates actively.

The presentation is prepared but it’s not very dynamic and interesting. Just some in the group manage the complete information.

The presentation lacks preparation. It limits to copy paste information from the internet. It’s rather boring.
