Mo Money!

Introduction

April is Financial Literacy Month. Everyone wants to have money. We use it everyday to buy things we want and need. However, money is also very tricky because we have a difficult time balancing the differences between wants and needs. Today you are going to learn about various ways to take care of your money.

Task

You will visit a number of different websites to learn about financial literacy. You will use the information you gather to complete a presentation that you would share with other teenagers about money.

Process

Task A: Define these terms using one of the two sites provided. Create a Google Slide presentation, give it a title, and include your name. Define each term, one term per slide, and include a picture for extra credit.

Task B: Watch this video and explain the meaning of the title "Teens, walk before you run financially". Create a slide for what you think this means.

Task C: Visit the following site and list 2 advantages and 2 disadvantages of having a credit card. Create a slide for advantages and disadvantages.

Task D: The following article makes a lot of good points. What are three tips they say every teen should learn when they get a part-time job? Create a slide in your presentation that lists those tips.

Task E: Research how to open a checking or a savings account and list the steps in a slide.

Evaluation

Here is the rubric for your presentation:

Content	Covers topic in-depth with details and examples. Subject knowledge is excellent.	Includes essential knowledge about the topic. Subject knowledge appears to be good. Originality	Product shows a large amount of original thought. Ideas are creative and inventive.	Product shows some original thought. Work shows new ideas and insights.	Uses other people's ideas (giving them credit), but there is little evidence of original thinking.	Uses other people's ideas, but does not give them credit.

Conclusion

Once you have completed your presentation, be sure you give it a title. Remember, you do not have to share it with me, but it must have a title. If it doesn't have a title, it doesn't exist, it never happened, and will equal a 0.
